Hello!
Hi there, I’m Ryan — a creative at heart who specializes in building exceptional digital products. My professional journey may have started with molten glass, but it’s the same passion for design and craftsmanship that drives me today as a lead UX/UI designer and project manager.
My story began in a glassblowing studio. After earning my BFA in glassblowing in 2005, I co-founded Bee Kingdom Glass, an award-winning studio that became my home for 15 years. Alongside two other artists, I had the privilege of running a creative business and seeing our work exhibited in galleries and museums around the world, from New York to Istanbul. This experience taught me invaluable lessons in entrepreneurship, collaboration, and bringing a vision to life—skills that laid the perfect foundation for the world of tech.
In 2021, I made the exciting pivot to tech, where I now blend my creative background with a focus on human-centered design. As the lead UX/UI designer and project manager at Pixeltree in Calgary, Alberta, I thrive on guiding software ideas from a simple concept to a polished, user-friendly product. I believe that great design is not just about making things look good; it’s about making them work beautifully.
When I’m not immersed in a new design project, you’ll likely find me hanging out with my wife and daughter, our two rescue dogs, or diving into my personal passions. I love to unwind with video games, find my zen in yoga, produce music, or hit the weight room. I’m also a big sci-fi fan and am currently deep into the Red Rising series (on book 4 right now!).
